At Strong Mutha, we understand that the journey of motherhood is unique and transformative. Our mission is to create a space where mums can prioritise their health and well-being while bonding with their little ones. We believe that being a strong mother goes beyond physical strength – it's about mental resilience, support, and shared experiences.
Founder's Vision:
Lou, a mum of two young girls herself, envisioned a space where mums could come together, rebuild strength & fitness safely, and share the joys and challenges of motherhood. With a background in personal training spanning over a decade, including in one of Brighton's top gyms, and a deep understanding of the postpartum journey, she established Strong Mutha to provide a nurturing, safe environment for mothers to prioritize self-care through their health and fitness.
Why Exercise With Strong Mutha?
Through our sessions, we aim to empower mums to prioritize self-care, embrace their strength, and foster a positive mindset in what can sometimes be a turbulent time as a sleep deprived new mum. As mums care for themselves, they, in turn, create a healthier and happier environment for their families.
Strong Mutha is a class that not only welcomed me, but my daughter too with zero judgement and has been beyond amazing for me over the past 5 months.
Having recently moved to the area with a 7 month old, knowing no one Lou’s classes haven’t just helped me rebuild my strength and fitness since giving birth, they have enabled me to make new friends and be part of the best community of like minded mamas. I genuinely look forward to going and could not speak highly enough for Lou’s encouragement, consideration of everyone’s needs and journeys and her ability to connect everyone together.

Since starting my postpartum journey at 7weeks, Lou @ Strong Mutha has helped me to become a strong, fit and happy mum who feels put back together again!
Not only do we exercise and have a laugh but we all enjoy a well-earned coffee and natter after. Being able to exercise with Huxley in a relaxed and baby friendly environment is hard to come by, especially one where you can let your baby roam free and cause a bit of chaos!
Not only have I been able to exercise but I have also made great friends too.

Mums Only! Evening Bootcamp
Wednesdays 7pm @ Offington Methodist Church
All of these sessions are designed for mums who are 6 weeks postpartum, or 12 weeks for those who had a C-Section.
We ask that you have been given the OK by a health professional, and that you feel ready to go yourself! Recovery from birth isn't alway linear; there's no pressure to return until YOU are ready. All exercise at Strong Mutha is based on low impact exercises, and please inform the instructor should you have any underlying health issues so we can adapt and work safely around you.
Babies and children are the parent's responsibility during all classes.
Should you be suffering from pelvic floor issues, DO NOT STRUGGLE THROUGH- it is important that you seek assistance, please ask instructors for recommendations.
